We all have enough work that carries over from day to day, week to week and month to month. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to start. You’ve seen my past posts which talk about prioritization, your ‘must do’s’, and doing what you ‘like least’ first. Once you’ve done those things, pick your next task and stick with it until it’s completed. Focus only on that item.
It is well known that multi-tasking is actually a myth. The brain can only focus on doing one thing at a time. Our ‘multi-tasking’ actually trains our brains to spend small amounts of time on tasks with many disruptions, which is ineffective. Pick your item and “Just do it.” You’ll get much more satisfaction out of completing that task, than by moving from one task to another without completing any.
