Do you have a team member who constantly expounds all the possible accomplishments your team or organization could achieve, whether they are practical or not? Are they the first to suggest that you check with individuals that will most likely be impacted by the changes you or your team are trying to implement? Chances are, those team members possess what we call Merchant energy according to the  Core Values Index™. Merchants are all about vision and relationships.
If you’re a Merchant according to the Core Values Index™, you don’t know what it’s like NOT to think about relationships and possibilities in everything you do.  You see the relationship and implications in every situation. Talking and listening to others is energizing for you. You are a wealth of ideas and your blue sky input may annoy others at times.
When you need someone to manage or create relationships, or excite people about a company vision, the high Merchant score on the Core Values Index™ is your perfect pick. They will not only enjoy the exercise, they will thrive in that environment.

The CVI provides a basis and common language for effective and productive conversations about behaviors and expectations with team members.
The CVI measures innate preference (suitability) rather than ability or adaptability. Moreover, it helps people focus on identifying what satisfies or fulfills them about the work they do.
The CVI is easy to understand, incredibly memorable and can be applied immediately to your team relationships and communications. That’s why it’s key in my coaching engagements. You’ll quickly discover why people behave the way they do, and why it’s so perplexing to you!

Remember, the CVI will give your leaders the understanding and common terminology to enhance their communication. Â In addition, it will give them the ability to manage expectations with each other, and their teams.
